Dundee Drum Academy was pleased to announce yesterday that a primary school pupil has passed his Grade 2 RSL Awards exam with an impressive 80%, giving him a well-earned pass with merit. Luke has progressed very quickly on drums in the last few months and recently performed at Dundee Drum Academy's Christmas Concert.Â
This morning, RSL Awards publicly congratulated Luke on Twitter:
The result becomes even more impressive when it is taken into consideration that Luke is still a primary school student. The grade required to pass National 5 in fourth year of high school is Grade 3 - which Luke has already begun to study - so it is expected that he will be well ahead of the required grade should he choose to take music in high school.
Luke becomes the first Dundee Drum Academy student to pass a graded exam in 2016 - I'll keep you updated on more expected success for other students in the coming months!
